Today, we began class with Friday Forum presentations. Then, we began our dramatic reading of Act III of The Crucible.

Today, the class took their vocabulary unit one quiz. Then, we read and discussed Act II of The Crucible, and students worked on their study guides and character trackers. We wrapped up class by assigning roles for tomorrow's dramatic reading of Act III of The Crucible.

Today, the class spent the abbreviated time unpacking the AP argument FRQ rubric, using the 13 words summary strategy. Then, they were given the remainder of the class period to work on their Thank You for Arguing and The Crucible study guides.
Today, we began class by reviewing Miller's commentary on the introduction to Reverend Hale in The Crucible. Then, we completed our reading of Act I of The Crucible, and students were given the remainder of the class period to work on their study guides and character trackers.

Then, we continued reading Act I of The Crucible, and students worked on their study guides and character charts. We ended class with an Miller's commentary on diabolism as he introduces the character, Reverend Hale. Students are to complete the guided reading analysis tonight for homework.

Then, students read background information about Arthur Miller and completed the Introduction to The Crucible Background analysis worksheet. Next, we began reading Act I of The Crucible and working on the accompanying study guide and character chart.

Today, the class completed their reading and analysis of "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" and engaged in a 3-2-1 analysis activity which led to an engaging and impressive class discussion about the rhetorical devices, and their effects, used in "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." Then, the class was assigned a reasoning web, to help them solidify their research topics, for tonight's homework. For the remainder of class, the class read and annotated chapter 7 of Thank You for Arguing, while Mrs. Crandall checked, and answered questions about, the scholarly article assignment #1.
