College Board approved AP Language course combined with American Literature EOC course
Today, students were given a sneak peek of the requirements for the AP exam. They engaged in an abbreviated AP Language/Composition Exam pre-test that was assigned on AP classroom. This pre-test allows students the opportunity to preview the requirements, expectations, and rigor of the AP exam. It also allows the teacher the opportunity to individualize instruction, based on data extrapolated from the pre-test.

Today, we began class with a short video entitled, "Ordinary and Poetic Language." Then, the class completed the article portion of the "Language as Power" presentation/assignment and discussed their findings in groups. The class continued through the "Language as Power" presentation, working in groups to make claims about the messages of the assigned poems. Then, we began viewing Carol Dweck's Ted Talk, "The Power of Believing You Can Improve." We will finish watching this video presentation on Thursday.
