Today, students completed their reading and annotation of The Great Gatsby chapter six. Then, students were given the rest of the class period to work on their vocabulary unit three exercises and study for tomorrow's quiz.

Today, the class continued reading and annotation chapters 5-6 of The Great Gatsby. The class participated in a Dojo Dash annotation share, in which students identified specific literary devices AND made claims about their literary effects.

Annotation Check #1Today, students worked on crafting a creative P.O.V. narrative, based on an excerpt from chapter one in The Great Gatsby. While students wrote, Mrs. Crandall conducted the first of two annotation checks/conferences.

Today, we began class with a continued discussion of the chapter one guided reading of The Great Gatsby. Then, we completed our reading and annotations of chapter one of The Great Gatsby . For the rest of class, w e engaged in a Dojo Dash, through which students earned Dojo Points for sharing and discussing annotations (whole-group).
