Today, we began class with a warm-up exercise through which we identified the fallacy type of a contemporary commercial (false authority: see below). Then, we completed our Unit One Enduring Understandings PowerPoint and notes. Then, we previewed the extended research argument paper assignment. We went over the "Finding a Topic for Your Researched Argument" handout and mini-assignment. Then, students were introduced to their unit one vocabulary terms. We discussed parts of speech, and the class worked on filling in the blanks for the unit passage (see Mrs. Crandall for information).
