During today's digital session, the class begins by reviewing the chapter one literary analysis guide for The Great Gatsby. Next, the class engages in a full-group TPCASTT analysis of "The First Snowfall" and reads chapter two of The Great Gatsby. The class is given the remainder of the class period to work on their chapter two literary analysis guide.
Reminder:
During today's digital session, the class completes the discussion for the chapter one guided reading of The Great Gatsby, is introduced to the chapter one literary analysis guide, finished reading chapter one and working on the literary analysis guide. Then, the class engaged in a whole-group TPCASTT analysis of James Russel Lowell's "The First Snowfall."
Reminders:
Today's digital session begins with a Disney animation about the life of Washington Irving. Then, students worked independently reading "The Devil and Tom Walker" and completing the analysis questions and chart, which are due to turnitin.com by 11:59 PM on Thursday.

During today's digital session, students are given the entire class period to work on their USA TestPrep Practice Test #1, in preparation for the EOC. Students are also assigned USA TestPrep Red Dot Exercises to help them improve the skills with which they struggle. Students may take the practice test as many times as they would like until 11:59 on October 31st. At this point, the highest score will be captured and entered into the grade book as a minor grade. Students will repeat this process, beginning on 11/1. On 11/20, the teacher will capture the highest grade scored on any of the individual student tests, and this grade will be entered as a major grade. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Crandall if you have any questions about this process.
